Journalists and bloggers have been talking about virtual reality for retail for some time, but it still hasn’t quite caught on. I’m not sure the technology is quite where it needs to be–but we’re certainly getting closer! This article dives into virtual reality in retail, citing some examples of solid execution.
This one is a little more applicable than virtual reality, because it focuses on ten trends that are easier to get your head around. You might read this list and think, “This isn’t about the future.” And, it kind of isn’t. These are things that are happening right now, but their impact on the future will be huge when you look out to the horizon. Don’t overlook their impact over time.
This article is definitely more marketing-focused, but still very relevant for retailers. It dives into how important omnichannel marketing and multi-touch attribution have become and how much more important they will be. Now, take it with a grain of salt–the word “omnichannel” is as hyped as a term can be–but there’s some real insight here.
