Sometimes I have a running theme for the content I share in What We’re Reading. Sometimes, like this week. I don’t. These are just three articles that have a good message, and I think they are worth reading. I hope you enjoy.
Look Up to These Retailers
Whether you’re a small company with a single webstore or you work for a huge enterprise with hundreds of locations, it’s important to always keep an eye on the industry leaders. What are they doing? How are they doing it? Are they successful? Like your big brother or sister, these companies set an example (good and bad) for you to learn from.
SMB Retail Growth
Smaller e-Retailers See Steady Growth
This brief article shares that smaller e-retailers grew at 14.4%, which is really comparable to the 15.4% overall eCommerce growth, reported by the Department of Commerce. What it means is that, though growth for smaller businesses is a little slower, they are holding their own. The Internet is the ultimate equalizer. The numbers show that SMB e-retailers are able to compete with industry giants.
Product Information Management
Why Accurate Product Information is at the Heart of a Retailer’s Transformation to Omnichannel
So, I lied. I didn’t read this one. It’s a YouTube video! It’s a brief interview with the Master Data Architect for a electronics retailer in Europe. He talks about the importance of product information, when it comes to delivering an omnichannel experience. I couldn’t agree more emphatically, about how critical product information is to any merchant’s success.
